The damages and destructions of bridges during the Homeland war, as well as their post-war reconstruction are described in the book. Specifically, there are about 108 small and large bridges in the system of public roads of the Republic of Croatia. Main bridge characteristics and the traffic analysis before, during and after the war are shown. Bridges are classified by region: Eastern Slavonia and Baranja, Posavina and Western Slavonia, Banovina, Karlovac and its surroundings, Lika, Northern, Central and Southern Dalmatia. The book A time to break down and a time to build is a complete and comprehensive scientific work, a valuable document about the Homeland War and the period of reconstruction, but above all a great contribution to civil engineering science.
