Formal simplicity, respect for space understood in square meters, and the ongoing search for comfort in all their buildings, residential or public, are the most evident symptoms of the architectural candidness of French architects Anne Lacaton and Jean-Philippe Vassal, founders of the studio to which AV devotes its latest monograph. This volume sums up a career of almost thirty years with fifteen works and five projects presented by Richard Scoffier, who refers to their buildings as ‘incubators of the everyday,’ coinciding with the opinion of Luis Fernández-Galiano, who praises the ethical commitment of these partners that, as in modern architecture, place construction at the service of life.
