En Blanco 30 : Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter

In their struggle with nature, Norwegian architects learned to love nature by making – this was the original meaning of the word poiesis.

Four metaphorically named paradigms of Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter’s ways of making are discussed in this issue of En Blanco, after a brief general framework: proceeding from less urban situations to a more strategic complexity of regional infrastructures.

The reader will find treatments of space-time in Selvika, changing memory and nature in Trollstigen, the effort to complete an unfinished sector respectfully in Pilestredet, Oslo, and a strategic, cultural centre in Stjørdal, Trondheim: diversity, intensity, simplicity, sense, a subtle architectural manifesto.
