Fifty Years of World Festival of Animated Film – Animafest Zagreb (1972-2022)

Bilingual monograph (Fifty Years of Animafest Zagreb, Croatian/English) on 536 pages and in 12 extensive chapters brings together 389 articles by 37 domestic and foreign authors and almost 300 photographs. In addition to its commemorative and anniversary character, the functionally and attractively designed book Fifty Years of Animafest Zagreb also analytically sheds light on the Festival’s rich past from the interdisciplinary perspectives of general history and the history of art, architecture and urbanism, design, musicology, video game theory, media and personal reception. Animafest’s contributions to film and visual arts and education and technological development are presented, as well as its organizational aspects, audiovisual identity and reflections on its global position. In addition to professional and scientific works, the monograph also brings the testimonies of the protagonists of the time, thereby contributing to the culture of memory and the study of animation.
