The architecture of Paredes and Pedrosa shown in this monograph is, above all, of a public nature, awarded in competitions, where projects such as the Lugo Auditorium, the Villa Romana de Olmeda, the Gandía school or the Ceuta library stand out. they reflect the emphasis on highlighting the particularities of the place and preexistence. The Córdoba Library is also published for the first time, still under construction.
It is a continuity trajectory, true to its origins. A cultured and serene architecture, without formal excesses that seeks to adapt to the environments and solve real problems, without predefined languages. An architecture that trusts the profession and not so much the image.
With an introduction by José Ignacio Linazasoro and an interview with the authors by Silvia Colmenares and Santiago de Molina, this monograph by Paredes and Pedrosa constitutes a lesson in contemporary architecture, solvent, respectful of the past and aware of the present.
