TC Cuadernos has just published the 142nd issue of a collection of monographic editions dedicated to great names in Architecture. This time it includes the main buildings and designs of the Valencian architect Ramón Esteve, ranging from 1996 to the present. An amount of 326 pages containing all the photographs, sketches, plans and construction details necessary to understand some of Ramón Esteve’s most famous and award-winning projects, such as the houses Na Xemena, Paz y Comedias, Sardinera or the Cottage in the Vineyard. In addition, the book premieres the recently completed House in La Cañada and the Madrigal House.
From dwellings to work places, with such examples as the Príncipe Felipe Research Centre. Also cultural facilities, such as the Bombas Gens Art Center, an example of rehabilitation of the 30s industrial architecture that provides Valencia with a renewed space for contemporary art exhibitions.
The last but not less important part of the book is dedicated to show the most relevant work by Ramón Esteve as a product designer. A selection of outdoor furniture, lights, water taps and bathroom fixtures produced by different firms with national and international prestige such as Vondom, Porcelanosa, Vibia, or LZF Lamps, among others.
All the graphic information, much of it purposely elaborated for this issue, helps the reader to understand the constants in which Ramón Esteve’s work is developed and his global vision on Architecture and Design, which results in the creation of complete spaces and environments as scenarios where life happens.
With a foreword and texts by Joaquim Quixal, the issue includes an interview with Edgar González, structured around the ideas of practice, beauty, life and future; and highlighting concepts like creativity, identity, intuition and the fight against prejudice in Architecture.
