| The exhibition Socialism and Modernity was focused on the relation between the process of modernisation and the culture of modernism. The authorial team aimed to explain the nature of the connection between the process of post-war modernisation, modernism, and modernity within the cultural and political practice of Croatian/Yugoslav socialist society. The book presents five personal views on the post-war culture of modernism, whose primary link is the common attempt to at least partly neutralize the consequence of the twenty-year trivialization of emancipative effects of the social concept of culture, i.e. to question some newer interpretations of the post-war modern art that emerged within the narrative of new, national histories of art of the countries that emerged after the breakdown of Yugoslavia. | ||||
